Once men get the bespoke bit between their teeth, they rarely let go. So it is with Mickey Rourke, who having had one pair of slippers from Cleverley & Co back in April has now moved onto his second. Slippers are proving increasingly popular with Hollywood clients, according to George Glasgow Jr, with the need to make them from scratch in order to specify the embroidery distinguishing the pieces from lesser models.

Vinnie Jones, of course, a good friend of Rourke's, features in the current issue of The Rake in his bespoke loafers. And you can see Rourke's first pair here. With Hollywood, it seems, comfort is the driving factor.
Rourke's rising interest in bespoke led him to pick out particular details with this new pair: red piping around the uppers, rather than black, and burgundy soles. You can also see below a pair of antique dark-brown monks he had made at the same time, with those same burgundy soles.
